Still processing everything from Config in London!
Last week, I had the chance to attend Config together with Tanya Kovtun, and wow, what an experience.
From the very first moment, I felt surrounded by incredible energy. It wasn't just about the Figma product updates (although seeing Dylan Field take the stage was pretty epic) or the inspiring talks from amazing speakers. It was about the people.
But let me highlight a few talks that really stuck with me:
Ningfei Ou One of those talks where you laugh, feel slightly called out, and totally agree. UX without manipulative tricks? Yes please. Honest, sharp, and genuinely inspiring.
Timothy Achumba Wow. Just… wow. From Figma to physical product. And with such a vibe, it felt like he walked off stage in slow motion. 🫨 I personally love talks like this: stories about craft, the spark of an idea, and what truly inspires us. Loved every second.
Christine Røde "Native? Always yes!" That's the energy she brought. A simple yet powerful reminder: don't force Android to look like iOS and vice versa. (I'm a huge Arc fan by the way 😄)
Vishal Kapoor & Kishan Koriya Loved how they talked not just about components or styles, but about culture, operations, and long-term thinking. Truly a behind-the-scenes look at design leadership in action.
Devin Jacoviello & Nick Jones Easily one of my top presentations at Config, not just because of the message, but the delivery. Their session "The web hasn't happened yet" was a mix of chaotic brilliance, humor, creative chaos, and surprisingly deep truths about how we design and experience the web. From surreal slide jokes to an actual roadmap for the next 127 years, it was a wild ride, and somehow still incredibly insightful.
"You shouldn't trust people who use 15 shades of snot green in one deck. But also, maybe you should." 😅
What really made Config special was the atmosphere. Being in a space filled with designers from all over the world felt electric ⚡
I had so many meaningful conversations, and realized that, no matter where we work, we're all solving similar problems. Sharing stories, laughing together, venting a little: that was just as valuable as the talks themselves.
Events like Config remind me why I love this industry. They recharge you. They make you feel connected. And they spark ideas you didn't even know you needed.
